August 31st, 2020

 Hey you guys!!!

Well, first things first. Exciting news! There are now 3 of us! We just got Sister Chand Thursday and she is a peach! She lived in West Valley City, Utah for a year before her mission, but she grew up in Fiji! She speaks really good English, but she also knows Hindi and Fijian. She so funny and it's going to be a party of a transfer.

We had some good service this week. We were able to go to Samaritan and help organizing food and making snack packs. We are hoping to keep finding new opportunities to serve around and help.

Jerry is doing so amazing! We've started putting the program together for his baptism and he is patiently waiting for the big day. He's just so ready and I'm so excited!

We had the opportunity to meet with someone who has been talking with some missionaries virtually. We learned that she is outside our area, so we referred her to the Centerton 2nd elders, but we were able to have a good conversation with her and talk about a lot of things pertaining to the gospel.

Sydney, our recent convert, is doing well. She has recently been moved into the YSA ward and is taking institute. We were able to meet with her this week and introduce her to the missionaries in the YSA ward, which went really well.

We continue forward with finding, using Facebook as our biggest tool. We've had some amazing conversations and interactions with people and been able to help some people in many different ways.

Something new coming up! Our mission is starting an initiative called Be One. Similar to Light the World, there will be a calendar of simple things to do each day to help everyone who participates be one with God, their family, and their community. I'm excited be a part of it, even if it's just for a little bit. It starts on September 1st.

I've been going back and reading some of my old journals! Oh my goodness, guys, was I a silly goose who didn't know anything! I've changed so much since than and have learned so much! I've noticed I've become a lot less of a perfectionist and how as long as I'm doing my best, Heavenly Father will take care of the rest.

I hope you all are doing good. To you I say, adieu!

Love,
Sister Savannah Johanson

 Hey Everybody!

It's been a good week! First off, with transfers, Sister Higley and I are staying AND we are getting a trainee! So that will be exciting for my last transfer.

We did lots of service this week. We took down a wire fence, which took a long time, but it was fun! I got to see some of the members from Centerton 1st, which was nice. We also painted a fence. And we helped at the horse place again. We organized the groundskeeper's shed and washed his truck, but I enjoyed it.

We've been walking a lot and biking because we are low on miles. Thankfully the weather has been nice. I've enjoyed being more active and moving about.

We are trying some new finding stuff. We are painting some Book of Mormons and stuff and we are gonna put on marketplace. We hope to see some results from that.

The people we are teaching are doing amazing! I just love them so much! I love seeing how the Spirit works on them and how much God is in their lives and helping them. I just love them so much! I live this gospel and how much it has helped me and changed me. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ.

I love you all!

Love,
Sister Savannah Johanson

 Hello Everyone!

It has been a wonderful week and we are so grateful for the miracles that we have seen throughout.

Jerry is getting closer to his baptism, which is exciting! We got his interview all set up and the preparations for the big day are underway. The ward is so great at showing their love and support. We end up seeing him at least 3 times a week, just because the ward invites him over whenever we come to their house!

As some of you have figured, finding is a little difficult during this time, so we have had to get creative. We started doing sidewalk chalk messages and we have gone from door to door, leaving pamphlets on people's doorsteps. Sister Higley gets so nervous with the dropping off pamphlets, as she has never done tracting before. I have to ease her into it.

Sidney, our recent convert, is learning the new member lessons and they are going well. She has been recently moved to the YSA ward and will be attending institute this fall, which will be exciting for her. She is such a great learner and has a beautiful spirit about her. We had a good visit with her and talked about her life coming up and helped her make some decisions and opened up some options.

We also had the opportunity to do some service this week. During this time, we have mainly done outdoor service for people, but finding it has been a little difficult. But we were able to help at Horses for Healing as well as help paint a fence for someone out in Gravette with some other missionaries. It was really fun and I got to know my stake better.

I was studying in Come, Follow Me this week and it talked about the strippling warriors. One thing that stands out to me is how even though there were many who were wounded, none were lost. I feel like that applies to us as well. We all will make mistakes and do the wrong thing, but we don't have to be lost. Because Christ is the shepherd and will always find us and never let us go. We all are wounded and we all can love and help each other.

I love you so much!

Love,
Sister Savannah Johanson

 Hey everybody!

How are things? It's been a long week, for sure. We've been doing a lot of Facebook finding and service has been hard to do. We have too far away for all of our service and it's been burning our miles a lot, so that's been a struggle.

But our service was crazy! We went and had to clean these old stalls, but they were, like really old and it was more of taking down all the webs from spiders in there. There were so many! It was so gross! I had to put on a brave face, since my companion was more afraid than me, so I had to do it. But it's all good. We left unscathed.

The people we are teaching are doing so good! I love them so much! They are just so in tune with spirit and trying so hard and I love going to see them. It's been great!

We had a fun member service. Someone in another ward does this kids play thing with singing, dancing, and acting. She needed help with the sets, so we got recruited to go help with that and it was so fun! I loved doing that. Reminded me of what I would do at home. We didn't get to see the production, which I was sad about, but it's okay.

I love my mission and I have enjoyed looking back at all I have seen, done, and learned in the past 16 months. It's truly been amazing. I feel like a new person, a new creature in Christ. I love my Heavenly Father, I love my Savior, I love this gospel. I don't know what my life would be like if I wasn't here.

I love you all so much!

Love,
Sister Savannah Johanson

 Hey friends!

Sorry it's so short!
We worked a lot on the Harvest and we did some service. We teamed up with some other missionaries to do someone's yard work. We've done a lot of Facebook stuff for finding and there has been some cool stuff. A lot of the ward fasted for someone we are teaching, which was really cool! We got to meet with some of the members this week. I wish I could write more!

I love you!
