This week we have been crazy busy, running around everywhere! It had more with that we were able to try and visit many people we had referred to us in ward Council and our ward mission leader. We had transfer calls, but Sister Fisher and I are staying the same here in Prairie Grove.
One of my favorite things we do is our service in a small town called Winslow. We just started there a couple weeks, but the people there have quickly taken to us. Its a place called Winslow Community Meals, kind of a senior center, but more just for the people in the community. Not many people run it, but the ladies who work there are the cutest, feistiest ladies ever. They are every sense of the word southern. Tina is my favorite. She calls us her babies and is the real lady in charge. She is just a firecracker and just loves having us there. They only have so much to do there right now, but they keep telling us to come and they don't want to lose us.
We have been trying to do some new finding methods, so we did a hot chocolate/lollipop stand, so we can at least try to talk to people. We put it up at a neighborhood Walmart. Not much happened there. It turned out to be a lot warmer than we were expecting. No one took any hot chocolate. We did give some lollipops out to some kids. So, at least we did that. We also ran into a group from a church doing a scavenger hunt. They had a bunch of stuff they needed to do. They asked us if we could yodel with them! It was kind of funny! We didn't know what we were doing.
I've been trying to immerse myself in the story of the Restoration in preparation for general conference. It has been so nice to really revel in the story of Joseph Smith, who had only a question and seemed the least likely candidate for such an amazing work. I think that is how we work. We have so much we are capable of and we can do it with the Lord. With His help, His amazing work becomes ours and we can do amazing things. I know that we have the restored church because of Joseph Smith and that he was a man called of God to do such a work.
Sending all my love to you,
Sister Savannah Johanson
